I Think I saw somewhere that if you bought an ALR for 7 or 14 days you could travel the night before the start date, if you were travelling overnight on a sleeper train. eg on a night train from London to Scotland or Penzance ,
Please can tell me where I can can find this information. many thanks.

If you are going to be using the seats then that will obviously be a good option, if booking a berth then look at both the berth supplement fare and the standalone sleeper fares as they have massively increased the supplement to the point a full standalone sleeper fare can be cheaper.
