Does anyone know if the All Line Rover is available at a discount for Railway Staff? I am not working as Staff as yet, but with the amount of recent applications I have done, I may get lucky. I am planning a trek by rail sometime in the future, where I travel to the 92 Football Grounds, raising money for Charity. I am wanting to do it by Rail. Will see how it goes.

Yes, once you get a Priv card, you can get 75% off an All Line Rover.

Worth adding that if you were to have a Standard Class PRIV, then you cannot buy a discounted First Class All Line Rover or in fact any discounted First Class Tickets!

Just taking an opportunity for a minor gripe!

I note that First Class All Line Rovers are now marginally more than 50% above the Standard Class equivalents. This would be all fine and dandy if all trains offered first class accommodation. Last year I bought a First Class All Line Rover to embark on a tour of the British Piers and, of course, had forgotten that getting to many of these involved much travel on Standard Class only trains. It was still good value for money, but I did feel a mark up of, say 30%, over Standard Class would have been more appropriate.

PS I didn't get round all the National Pier Society's listed piers in the 14 days but did have a great holiday. Good luck with 92 Football Grounds.

However there is nothing to stop you using services with 1st class all the time with the ticket.

No but it wouldn't be an All Line Rover if I did - it would exclude travel for vast chunks of the country!

I do take your point though. It was my choice to pay the extra 50% and I could have thought things through better before I bought it. But the real joy of having a rover is that you can flex your arrangements to suit your mood or the weather. I was merely suggesting that, in retrospect, a 30% mark-up would more fairly have reflected the travel I made.

As my earlier posting stated this is a 'minor gripe' and I certainly had a good holiday.
