I will be buying an all line rover ticket from my local station. Is it possible to make reservations before I purchase the ticket, since it is only possible to purcahse 3 days in advance

Thanks

Your local station should be able to make seat reservations.
The GWR and TPE Web sites are also reported to be able to do the same, although recent reports might be that the former can no longer do this.

The TransPennine website definitely can as I have just used it earlier today, although it appears to be limited to making 10 reservations each week so you may want to prioritise the busiest services first if using this option.

Its correct that GWR do not currently offer the ability to make standalone seat reservations as when I checked yesturday the option had still not been reinstated (with no confirmation it will return).

If you really need more reservations you can make another account

Yes that is a good workaround, I have 2 LNER accounts because of their tighter restrictions on only 2 reservations being held on any single day.
At least with TransPennine there does not appear to be a restriction on the number of reservations held for a single day so if booking further ahead you can wait until the following week when your quota of 10 is reset.

You can also make seat reservations in advance at any booking office, provided that you can convince the staff that you will be using an All-Line Rover.

While this is certainly possible I have had issues in the past making more than 1 or 2 reservations for the same day, so this method may require multiple trips to the ticket office or using multiple ticket offices.
Of course this will depend on the operator of the office/staff that you get as I have found so to be far more accommodating than others.
