For those of us that live west of Staines and have the luxury of living near heathrow and not have access to public transport to the airport, what is going on?
I understand there are 3 level crossings at Pooley green, Egham hythe and Egham station itself that may need to be taken care of. Would tunneling under work?
The issue about using the windsor section of the line as it leaves staines and routing it to heathrow - if they are building the 3rd runway then why not run the line parallel to the M25 north of junction 13?
Would love to know thoughts as this vital rail link cannot come soon enough...

Airtrack as it was originally planned is probably finished, but Heathrow Southern Access is regularly discussed, most recently here, the thread was current in July this year:
https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/heathrow-southern-link-proposals.159625/
But there are a number of other similar threads.

Basically they intend a new line towards Chertsey, alongside the M25, to bypass the Egham area problem level crossings.
