Airport Parking

Bit of a boring thread but extensive googling hasn't provided me with the information I want.

I have only ever done airport parking off site (such as APH at Manchester) I'm going away in the summer with some family with young kids and it would be more helpful to park say 10:00 at the multi storey on site, catch the train into Manchester for the day then come back collect bag from the cars and head to check in for an evening flight. At the multi storeys are your able to just come and go once your in?

As far as I am aware, this would not be a problem as long as you have paid. Might be worth a quick email but I cannot see what the problem would be as they don’t appear to close them off.

Although not common, open jaw tickets may require you to use another airport, particularly if you experience what happened to me where the initial connecting flight on the day was cancelled.

Just make sure that you don’t book the parking where your vehicle is taken off site (they take the car keys).

I would recommend avoiding Jetparks 1/2 as the trip round on the bus will take some time.

The onsite multistoreys I have used at Manchester are no different to those in any city centre. Drive in, park and then go where you like, either check in or eslewhere. Returning to the car before the flight isn't a problem.

You may also find you can check in your bags as soon as you arrive, rather than having to leave them in the car. The last time we took a flight we checked in the bags the night before, which made check in the day after so much quicker as we just went straight to security, rather than queue with hundreds of other passengers all checking in bags.

I've used plenty of on-airport car parks (though not at Manchester), and I've never encountered one where there was any restriction on returning to the car whenever I wanted. Obviously some have a bus transfer between car park and terminal, but I've never seen any sort of check on how many times you use it.

There should be no problem, but the cost maybe significantly higher for on site as opposed to off-site parking.

Not a good idea to leave your bags in the car however, although perhaps safer than doing so in central Manchester.
