Hi all. Photograph updates from the big project, scheduled for opening in December this year. All photographs below were taken on Saturday 24th July 2010 and show progress being made between Airdrie and Drumgelloch.
Old Drumgelloch Station Site:
Taken from Crowwood Drive Road Bridge,the site of the now known 'OLD' station which is so far replaced with overhead wire portals and new double track to follow. New is in the middle of being constructed at present approximately 550 yards east of this location:

Taken from Gartlea Road Road Bridge, a view of Airdrie station during a busy peak of engineering. The station has been closed for a week and trains have been terminating at Coatbridge Sunnyside station and onward bus connections have been in place. This is to enable most of the vital parts of the the works at the station (to do with the A - B Project) to be carried out:

Works have being on - going for at the station solid for a week from Monday 19th July 2010 (as mentioned above). Works included laying the new double track, resurfaces / surfaces original platform 2 / newly constructed platform 3, renewing overhead wire portals and related wires and replacing old signals with modern L.E.D. signals:

Hi all. Another update on the Airdrie - Bathgate Project this time from Tuesday 27th July 2010. I ventured out to follow the progress at Airdrie and Caldercruix stations. Airdrie is now fully reopened after beig closed for a week in order to renew signals, resurface platforms and erect overhead line equipment etc. Photographs and mroe information, as always, can be found below.
Airdrie station:
Controlled signal 'YS 155' at platform 2 has been renewed with a modular one colour aspect L.E.D. signal:

Two photographs of Class 320 304 which is seen sitting inside platform 2 preparing to work the 14.11 2H07 service to Helensburgh Central. This platform has been resurfaced and a new double track has been laid as part of the on going works at the station in relation to the A - B project. New overhead line wires, the new station footbridge and new waiting shelter can also be seen here. Work is still on - going in terms of contructing the new platform 3 at the station:

Bathgate:
Looking west towards Armadale. Overhead portals are now erected with realted wires waiting to be attached. A supermarket is rumoured to be getting built in the empty space here:
