Air-to-air heat pumps can also do cooling (or at least it requires some minor additional parts/changes), which is much more dignified than using fans or opening the window when it's warm.
With summer temperatures rising and extremes increasing this will become increasingly important.

Another option that will become more affordable once the regs are changed sometimes this year is plug in balcony solar systems. Ideal for fences and sheds especially if in future they require DIY only installation.

Likely to be able to generate 10-20% of electric demand for none electric heating users.

Funnily enough i’ve just been looking that up. Remarkably cheap even for a decent sized system.
