Harriet app

Harriet appears to have had a haircut! What are those awful tracksuit-type costumes that they are all wearing? :(
@Ashley Hill always gives them great music t-shirts.

I thought they needed to come up to date and get some 1990s shellsuits. I specified that the shellsuits should be matching, but not what the design should be. Whilst I am sure that we would all like to forget that those shellsuits existed, they did. Luckily, my parents never got us purple ones.

Perhaps not strangely, everyone else in the picture is more normally dressed.

I think it is important to use these threads to consider both sides of fashion.

I tried dialling 999 and asking for the fashion police but was put through to an answering machine!

At least you weren't put through to a message in a bottle. ;)
That joke made my eyes sting. The session to gain release from that joke will take many hours.

There may be a reconstruction based on @Ashley Hill call presented by Michael Buerk. The shellsuit saga would slot nicely between a bank robbery and guest booking fraud*

* These are two leaked sketches for Comic Relief on Friday night.

Meanwhile in rural Lincolnshire Northern run their first direct Sheffield-Woodhall Junction service in over 50 years, seen here at Southrey station. The Jolly Fisherman however finds Skegness a bit too bracing and has decided to head in the opposite direction.

Possibly a session with the archbishop has led the Jolly Fisherman to beliefe he should seek out J R Hartley for a spot of fly-fishing instead.

For no obvious reason Eastenders are filming a Chuckle Brothers-esque special with Jake Moon (who apparently is coming back). I assume it was one of Walford's finest who captured the image.

Excellent image generation work.

That moment when you realise you've been fleeced by the seller of this auction-site's listing. Looks more like a Heljan 47, than a Stadler 99...

I always wondered what became of Steps

Come GBR could we see adverts like this?

Make it so. 8-) Reminds me of an image I'd made earlier this year (link)

In an effort to minimise operating costs in the 1990s, British Rail apparently used a two-car class 315 and a half-class 31.
Gemini sat in on a weird history-lesson...

The cost-cutting then deepened and those two abortive trials were, literally, merged.
I have no idea why Gemini doesn't want to give me a pair of 31s on one track and an NSE 315 on another track....

Very intriguing alternative reality; it does it so convincingly too. I think we need to 'train up' a LORA or two on the subtleties of the BR era.

Yet, last night's "mid 1980s mono" results (link below), which I had posted just prior to your superb carriage-interior scene, were really convincing.

Definitely more trusting times. Those plane spotters can just walk through the gate to touch the plane. Rather like British Rail where you can touch the train I guess.

Rail Replacement Plane Service…? ;)
RRB: Rail Replacement Boeing [707].

Shame there's no Terry Thomas type cad, in cravat, racing his Jaaaaag E-Type along the runway in front of the aircraft.
A bit late for what ifs, but what if Britains railways had not given up on aviation?
At least it can-t be short-formed. ;)

But, with this one, you can imagine that one of the floors would be closed because of staffing issues:

Here we see that even the A380 is prioritised to the Manchester to Bournemouth route

It probably has a smaller carbon footprint than a Voyager. At least its toilets are available.
Might struggle with clearance at Birmingham New Street though.

Meanwhile, in Blackpool there is a larger than life character trying to board one of the many local Northern A380s that are ready to leave. The platform doors are no doubt locked until the last minute though.

In one of those weird railway related coincidences, G-CCAA did once exist... it was a 125... ( the business jet ).
That is a brilliant coincidence. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

(Something lamenting the loss of the 125 on CrossCountry routes etc.)
