South Devon in the 1980s. Whilst generating Ai "HST drags", Gemini gave me Valliant coupled between the rear Mk3 and rear DM power car. Operating impossibility - but looks cool!

Nun the wiser - savvy Sisters save, with a group ticket. Seems Grantham's devious shedmaster's allocated Robert the Devil.
Now we know where JK Rowling got the inspiration from.

To the right there is clearly a 1/4 platform against the wall, the track appears to serve the nuns island. That must be the other 1/4 to the 93/4 on the other side of the wall.

I noted with your realistic pictures as well, it likes to make something of a cross between Kings Cross and Newcastle, the photos all seem to have a through station feeling about them.

I like the mad thread.

I guess that’s the front unit of a class 13 on the left. :D
I'm amazed their granite-masons carved that much of an 08, without it breaking off. If they were going for a 13, I'd want to see the master chiselled in behind the slave. ;)

Happy New Year 2026 greetings here:

On the Realistic AI Railway images thread, a new year brings a new game:
Each month, a thread contributor chooses a rail-related theme; and anyone can create any AI composition related to that month's theme. January's rail-related theme is pubs.
Mad? Not a bit. It's great fun, though! :)

AI really struggles with lettering (see, especially, the numberplate). I wonder why.
Not surprisingly, AI logic doesn't render a real licence-plate. However, it can generate user-defined plates; as seen here:

Although AI is getting better, it does not understand words. AI works with tokens that are probably right in combination. Only finer splitting of the tokens allows any form of detail.

It appears that nano_banana is doing well in @Sun Chariot pictures, so we are getting there with text in images.

From Russia with Love - the maddest part of this image isn't the Russian M62 diesel locomotive's body mounted onto a military road-vehicle's chassis
A six-axle version really did exist (see linked article) albeit it was not successful.

What next? A class 08 on caterpillar tracks? o_O

No, this: (The camouflage is the removal of the number 1 from the unit number)

The 37 at least has the sense to face the right way.

Unless this is Top Gear again and the 08 is actually Jeremy firing at James May in:Gemini_Generated_Image_xch170xch170xch1.png

Epic! 8-) That is what 180s were meant for!

My 08 is some way to the left of the 37. The caravan casualty is the same one in both of the images. I couldn't stock up on caravans, as they'd all fallen off the South Devon cliff.

I was trying to think of something slow. My first thought was one of the TfW Mk4 sets, but they are apparently the best thing ever despite not completing their diagrams yet this year. So what better than a self-combusting 180. The other carriages had obviously been fired at by the guns.

Despite being entirely unsuitable to do South Wales to Manchester (hence all the other images I make), the 150 is definitely a good train and not a suitable choice for James May in this AI episode.

The armoured transport of Sgt.Ig likely offers far more comfort than an Az-hateful-thing.
I begin to see a use - nay, the fate - for all that stock stored at Long Marston... ;)
You are right, it has given the train an 80x side. I asked for Pendolino and stopped asking when the front looked right.

I thought Sgt. Ig (well done) might benefit from the extra speed and tilt ability.

You can also imagine the commentary as it is narrated that Sgt Ig is a pacifist and has gone for no armour at all.

We better get commissioned as writers, the BBC needs a new Top Gear team so why not?

Flushed with promise of a new career I wanted to create another pub image for the realistic AI thread... Judge for yourself:

OK. I'll bite. Which TOC do you expect to be employing Wonderwoman for their APT-copter?
Perhaps it was one of those crew experiences on a heritage rail/airway. Notice she's in the back seat in the second shot.

Wonder Woman and her pasties (it has a double-meaning...) has a been a bit of a running gag for the past few weeks, on the thread below; particularly in this month's images theme.
Her pasties (the Cornish ones) also made an appearance on post 584 of this thread.
