Aggregate trains through Boulogne

I would be interested to find out details of the above traffic such as materials carried and destinations. On a recent visit to the area I saw 3 trains in one day which I believe were heading to and from a facility south of Rang de Fliers. Two were headed by class 66's in EWS livery.

There is a concrete factory at Conchil le Temple. The last views I can see on Google street view show the rail connection to the facility moribund, but the pictures are old (2009). The satellite view make sit look as if the track may have been reinstated.

Otherwise, 'stone' traffic through Boulogne is all from the famous marble quarries at Marquise/Caffiers

I did pass by on a train what I now know are the sidings for Conchil le Temple and they certainly didn't look active at the main line end. The Google Earth map of the site shows a shunter on a few wagons so this is probably the 2009 view you mention.

I have since looked at the marble quarries and the extent of the sidings and the scale of the workings is impressive. I glimpsed 3 workings in one day ( last Monday) and now realise that the loaded trains are heading south rather than north as I thought.
