Have any of you good folk upgraded your original car stereo to an Android Auto/Apple CarPlay unit?

The original DAB stereo in our VW T5 packed up the other day and I’ve been looking at replacing it with something better. There’s so much choice on the market though and you could spend anything between £80 (probably rubbish) and £1000.

I’d be happy (if that’s the word) to go up to £300, but I’m just not sure what the best option is? Any advice would be much appreciated!

My daughter has on her 10 year old Suzuki Swift. Some cheap Chinese brand, cost about £100, but a local car audio company fitted it with no problems.

Removed old unit, which can be replaced if required. A new surround was provided with the unit and it looks really neat, in comparison to the system which was removed it takes years off the car interior. Screen is twice the size and has Apple car play functionality, DAB radio etc.

The only downside is the steering wheel controls no longer work.

Thanks for that. Can she make calls through it and is the call sound quality any good?

Dad has just updated his T5 system to the VW touchscreen system. It’s more pricey but it integrates in with everything - including the parking sensors.

Think it’s called the RCD330?
