There are some of us can't afford to pay a subscription for RailUK.
Having a 'members lounge' or a paid only area creates a 'us and them' culture...

I wish I could help more towards the running costs but I can't. Adverts are great, and I do click them as well.

Ads will also vary given a company may only do a short campaign. I also forgot to mention that any business can pick certain sites by category, such as transport.

The Google ad network is very well established, which is after all the main way the company makes money and can offer so many services and applications for free.

I'm pleased to see that they seem to consider that my tastes are fairly upmarket. i have Conrad Hotels & Restaurants and still more Cruises to Greece.

And English Country Cottages.
I wouldn't want to have to answer the phone for that company, incidentally.

Peugeot and Vodafone are dominating my adverts at the minute, although I also keep getting a pic of a boy in a swimming pool looking rather joyful with a girl, presumably his sister, in the background - but no indication of what it is exactly...

I actually wonder if the Peugeot adverts are actually an advertisement by Google advertising their advertisements! :?

...Call me cynical, but are they trying to subliminally make me book a holiday and go way overboard with a credit card, thus not being able to afford the return fare and find a job in wherever my cruise took me..? Doesn't sound like a bad idea tbh
