Is this going to be a new way of raising money or is it a one off. I know in the past we had Busby the yellow British Telecom DMU and the Ginsters Pasty 158s. Now there is a 802 advertising pet food! 802106 appeared at Reading last night trying not to blend in. Any thoughts?

Placing Pet Food branding on the side of a Kitchen predominantly used for producing Pullman restaurant fine dining is an interesting choice by the powers that be.

Saw this at Newport yesterday, passing other way, but as we lost our dog to multiple old age illnesses few days ago, could have done without the reminder.

Already offloaded spare tins of food (including that brand)to local pet food bank collection, but I suppose someone sees the wrap as revenue, even if we saw it rather like Queens Platinum jubilee items still displayed after her death.

There have been others too. I recall at least one Pendolino and possibly an IC225 as well, advertising various film releases.

This would seem to meet the spirit of PRM-TSI in relation to contrasting door colour (the closest sliding door is presumably non-passenger and the other one is grey). However, with a "livery" of this type I wonder how partially-sighted people can even find the door amongst the far more gaudy graphics on the bodyside.

Yep. No issue with this if it keeps fares from increasing too much BUT Contravision or anything else obscuring windows where there are seats or standing areas by them is a red line and should never, ever be used under any circumstances whatsoever.

Trains have been available to buy in this way for years, it is just that the production costs and total audience value doesn't usually justify it.

There was a 47 and wagons in Mars Celebrations livery a few years ago*, and there have been promotional branding on the sides of trains for years (British Telecom DMU, Ginsters 158, Skyfall on the Mk4 set, Wolverine on a 390 etc). Its a good way for the company to advertise, bring in extra revenue for the TOC, but I agree that some of the liveries are confusing for those with poor sight.

Didn't 43163 advertise Plymouth University? I recall 43189 having some sort of advertisement too.

163 was "Plymouth Britain's ocean city" advertising. Not the uni. Previously to that was it Singapore Airlines?? Couple of cars advertised Bristol 2015 Green capital (126 was one). And 144 and 146 advertised a Greater west.

Think they had four of them at one point, with 126 also having the 'beard' wrapped around the cab.

800313 has 'we mean green' livery (was that the COP26-related one?). I agree there's a passing resemblance.
