Do any trains carry any sort of special advertisement livery these days or have they all been stripped off for good? I remember them being sort of being a big thing in the 90s to early 2000s e.g the Switzerland advertisement on the 319, but nowadays that seems to be a thing of the past. Are they not allowed to do that anymore?

Virign trains are running around with adverts for films on them. It might be the on board BEAM service actually.

Some HST power cars had special liveries in the old FGW colours, such as visit Plymouth and Bristol.

Special liveries:
156480 carries a commemorative livery for the Royal Air Force:

91101 still carries it's VTEC Flying Scotsman livery:
LNER 91101 Newcastle by DanNCL, on Flickr
91110 still carries it's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight livery:
91 110 Darlington by DanNCL, on Flickr
91111 still caries it's remembrance day livery:
LNER 91111 Newcastle by DanNCL, on Flickr

Advertising liveries:
4 of the Tyne & Wear Metro units carry advertising liveries for Emirates:

Several of the Metrolink M5000 trams carry advertising liveries too.

There are still a good number of special liveries and advertising liveries around, though not as many as there used to be.

Lnwr have a few units in promotional livery. 350110 has its centre coaches vinyled in green livery for 110mph running launch and 323221 and 350235 have a centre coach in BTP livery, I'm sure Scotrail have a 170 in BTP colours too

I thought the centre 2 coaches were grey?

I don't have a photo but there is a Scotrail Turbostar running around as a BTP advert. There was also one for the Borders Railway, not sure if that's still around.

They've also done a pride logo Turbostar which I took out to Stirling last week.

I swear one of the 91 locos with LNER has a livery for the York Railway Museum.

Also, there was a 43 celebrating its 40 anniversary

London Underground recently had an S7 wrapped in an advert for the Russian tourist board which was unveiled to much publicity and fanfare. I think it was quietly retired to much less publicity after the shift in diplomatic relations!

I've just made myself feel old by trying to think if I've seen an Underground train in an advertising wrap recently, thinking "oh! Yellow Pages!" briefly before realising how many years ago that must have been. Yellow Pages?? Not going to see an advert for that these days!

The EC Sky One livery was quite cool - made me think that a light blue livery really could work on the 225s.

London, Surrey... bit of a blur round here...
Tried posting this at work but didn't go through for some reason...

Not my photo, but SWT had a wrap advertising something on 450118 (and possibly another unit, not sure). Always thought it a bit unfair on the first class passengers who happened to be on this unit though - paying extra for first, but not even being able to see out the windows!

Surely it'd be a see-through wrap?
