Advent calendar

Anyone else here unleashing the child in themselves and still buying themselves an Advent calendar?

I've had one every year and I was hoping this year would be no exception! I always used to buy them to the start of November but I'm still not feeling Christmas so left it until the last minute. Imagine my dissapointment when I went into Sainsburys and they only have "Ben 10" and "High School Musical" ones! I've now got a search on to find a Cadburys one.

why wouldn't I, guaranteed chocolate every day for a month, infact I think I might do what happened on the vicar of dibley and get loads of them

Course am getting one

but my mums getting it for me (so i don't know which one am getting) whilst am at university
so i will only be able to have it when am at home at the weekends and when the holidays start

Thankfully grew out of advent calendars years ago. Just don't see the point.

That said, I'm pretty anti-Christmas all the time anyway. Too much ching on presents and associated stuff, trains are packed out with norms rushing home for their annual proper meal, everywhere has had Christmas music on since early October, the shops have been full of Christmas junk since the end of the summer, ads on TV are full of Christmas-related junk and music since early October...I could go on!

You've got to be fair though, Cadbury still far superior chocolate to most brands you find in the average shop. I still go for Cadbury chocolate in preference to anything else!

Hmmm...I must be on a different track to ye lot. Aside from my "advent" calendar only going up as far as 21, my picture for the 2nd shows two MEP's being hung, drawn, quartered, and horribly garotted in the process! hock:

When it comes to value for money, I think Cadbury have it. It's decent chocolate and it's not expensive. Sure, it's not Godiva, Lindt or Thorntons, but it's affordable, readily available and quite tasty.

As far as I'm concerned, Cadbury chocolate is poor quality, admittedly probably cheaper than better brands, but poor quality nonetheless. With regards to shop brands, the Waitrose own-brand chocolate is rather nice, I suggest you try it.
