What pros / cons would there be if we saw the return of British Rail??

Obviously this is (at the moment) a hypothetical...

There cannot be and will not be a return of British Rail. And I think Mr Corbyn got soundly thrashed in the election, so nationalisation is off the agenda. Why ask the question now? And what exactly is the question? Nationalisation of what? In what way?
