Have had an E-Mail from Virgin saying that the 1000 from Stafford to Liverpool Lime Street will be extremely busy t'rrow presumeably due to the Liverpool v Plymouth FA Cup Tie which my son and I are attending.

They are suggesting we travel on an alternative service but I have First Class Tickets with seat reservations. Does this mean the service is likely to be declassified and become a free for all ?

Have you tried e-mailing back to ask them?

Well it's coming up from London probably loaded with "pasty munchers" - mind you they would probably have had to stay the night before as they wouldn't get from Plymouth to London on a Sunday Morning in order to catch it that early.

Hoping it will be an 11 car Pendelino and my 1st Class Seats will be protected. Perhaps the "peasant class" will be full but the demarcation will be maintained - hopefully :p

More than likely!

Have you got a precedent for this ?

Currently on the last Euston service from Scotland, Arsenal played away at Preston. Even first class is full and standing

The last time I travelled up from Euston to Liverpool and it was full of footie supporters, the first class coach I was in was declassified and there was a group in there eating fish and chips. It did not smell good.

Well everything turned out okay (apart from the Match Result) got our seats okay on the 1005 ex Stafford and the !647 ex Lime Street.

Cattle was heavily loaded but 1st Class Okay as far as I could see.

On the way back got a Snack Box which now includes a sandwich which was a nice suprise.

Only water offered to drink but luckily had a cappo from The Lounge conveniently situated right next to the London Departures Platform Seven. :p
