I’ve been waiting for some Avanti tickets to become available from EUS to PRE fo Wed 29 Apr, ideally 18:30.

Is there any reason why Tuesday have cheaper tickets compared to a Wednesday?

Comparing the previous weeks, Tuesday services at 18:30 always start at £35, but Wednesday at £70.

Fairly confident I’m correct with the above as checking as soon as tickets released.

Any ideas?

I'd assume it's because there's more demand on Wednesday evenings.

I guess potentially one reason would be people who flexi-work a few days of the week in London, and perhaps do Monday (possibly travelling on Sunday evening) to Wednesday before heading back north.

There is presumably more demand on Wednesdays.

But you don't need to pay £70; that's a premium fare charged by Avanti for a longer distance journey. The forum's site charges £63.54 for the same journey (checked on 15 & 22 April).

Yes, that's only £6.46, but for that you could get some food for the journey.

Also, not only do you save money, but booking through us helps to fund the forum's costs.
