Right i know this may have been dicussed before but i wanna ask before i go to bed.

My girlfriend lives in newcastle and she found her timetable and booked tickets to leeds for leaving 14:05

She now has had her timetable cahnged at short notice (despite other timetable said to be final) so she doesnt finish till 5 so cant make the 14:05 train clearly.

It was booked on advance, so my question is can she get it refunded and buy a ticket for later travel, or is that it does she have to buy another single and just not use the other one?
if she can get a refund, where and how? take it station?

cheers in advance

She can change the ticket for a £10 admin fee, plus the difference in fare (if there is a difference in fare) e.g. if she got a £8 ticket, and the cheapest available is now £12, the cost would be £14. (Cheaper to buy a new ticket!) If the original cost was £20 and it is still £20, then the cost would be £10.

Is there a rtn journey? Does she have a railcard?

Leeds-Newcastle return can be done at any time for £41.50 (£20.25 each way) or £27.40 (£13.70 each way) with a Railcard if you get the right ticket, walk-on. (I'll send a PM).

I wouldn't get AP on this route.

Gotta laugh at the 11:05 on Wednesday. A single is £39.00 in advance (and if you miss it, your ticket is worthless) or you could pay only £28.60 for a walk-on Anytime single on the day, valid any train and not have to pay any fees if you decided not to book it. It should be illegal to sell that Advance ticket...

If she has a railcard a walk-on single is £18.90 (XC Only) but she may be better off with a new Advance ticket at 50% off with TPE...

Advance on XC isn't really worth it.

Needless to say, refunds can only be done prior to the time your train leaves.

There are no refunds on Advance tickets. Needless to say, changes can only be made prior to departure of the train.
