Advance ticket refunds due to snow

Due to go from Bury St Edmunds at 1430 today then onto the 1557 to Leeds. Looks highly likely to be cancelled/delayed. The BBC have just said eastcoast are advising passengers not to travel. Will I get a refund for my advance tickets if it transpires that the Leeds train runs on time (or 29 mins late!)? If so will I be eligible for a refund for my onward train (Leeds - Stalybridge)? Cheers

If it runs then no, you won't get a refund. In fact I don't think you can get a refund at all on Advance tickets, although some others on here may have a better understanding.

Is this definitely correct for advance tickets? I've got advance tickets totalling £28 that I didn't use, but it says "no refund" under the T&C and NXEA customer services confirmed this.

no, it isn't.

It says 'subject to the notes below' and those notes were not quoted; one of them is

Your right to receive a refund of all or part of the price paid may be restricted in the case of some types of reduced and discounted fare tickets, for example, those with an advance purchase requirement.

However, if they are advising not to travel, then they should have no problem refunding the ticket. It's probably best to call them and ask.

You will get a full refund if they advise you not to travel.
