I have an advance ticket on a late train on one of the new strike days from Kings Cross to a Northern station. There is no chance I can get a connection from the mainline. The ticket was bought weeks ago; I think before any of the Saturday actions, certainly before the most recent additions.

I can’t travel earlier or the next day.

Will LNER provide me with transport? Should I pay for a taxi and claim delay repay? What other options do I have?

Any TOC in a position to assist you must do so. If LNER is able to procure a taxi then that would seem to be the most sensible course of action.

If LNER etc. refuse to provide a taxi, perhaps claiming that the train you were booked on "never existed", you'll need to pay for the taxi yourself and then reclaim it from the relevant refusing TOC(s).

You are furthermore entitled to delay compensation with respect to any delay you may incur as a result of the cancellation.

You may well be permitted to travel on an earlier LNER service if you don't wish to incur the potential "hassle" of being denied a taxi, however you will not be entitled to delay compensation if you do this. Therefore, if you are not desperate to get home at a specific time, I would travel as booked and deal with any issues when and as they arise.

Shouldn't this phrase read "you will only be entitled to delay compensation if you arrive at your destination Northern station at least 30 minutes later than your original booked arrival time"?

Indeed, although the assumption is that if you are taking an earlier service then it is unlikely you will be delayed more than 30 minutes compared to the originally scheduled departure time.
