Advance Single tickets to Scotland

Went to Scotland 3 times last year. March, June & September. Got cheap Advance Single tickets in all cases but I needed to travel mid-week on a Tue Wed or Thu. Booked well in advance near the 12 week limit.

Trying to book now for early March, but realised that is just outside the 12 week limit, but then tried late February - you just don't seem to be able to get them, Well you can go up there but not back on an Advance Single.

Anyone know why ?

Reservations / Advance bookings typically open 12 weeks in advance but this does vary by route/operator, particularly at weekends, see: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/booking_horizons.html

They will be released for the way there, but not the way back, by the sound of it.

Just booked some for the 12th Feb, and East Coast are doing the £8 deal up until the 17th (which I assume you can book for now), so I'd guess that the 17th or sometime near it is the limit at present.
