Hi,

Got an advance tkt from Doncaster to Ipswich (Via Kings Cross as that's only way due to rail works going on)..

So i've got x3 legs for Journey

Donc - Kings X
Kings X - London Liverpool St
London Liverpool St - Ipswich

Questions

1) Do i have to be on all train times listed on journey planner ?? ... as it's giving me 0 min to get from train to tube at Kings X
2) Can i leave station at Kings X / London Liv St - wander round for a few hours & get a later train to Ipswich ??
3) If Q 2 not possible - can i stay in station (Pubs) & get later trains with tkt's still been valid

Sorry if daft question as i normally get open tkts but none where available for this route via Trainline.

It is almost certainly the case that you need to use the trains on your itinerary, and there is absolutely no doubt that is the case between Doncaster and London. The time between King's Cross and Liverpool Street is a transfer time and does not specify times for the underground, you just get the first available. I suspect that your train from Lievrpool Street will have what is called a counted place reservation (shown as Coach *, Seat ***), and in that case you will need to travel on the specified train - this is usually the case for the fast trains from Liverpool Street to Ipswich that go onto Norwich with departure times at xx:00 and xx:30.

Just to answer #1, im not sure exactly what it shows on the itinerary for cross London travel, but you can take any tube from King's Cross to Liverpool St, just go to the eastbound circle/metropolitan/h&c platform and get the first one that shows up, the fact that it shows a 0 min interchange doesn't matter.
for #2, you have to leave the station to reach the tube, and your ticket should work on the barriers at kings cross and at liverpool st, plus on the barriers for the tube too.
You should have at least 40/45 mins to get from King's Cross to Liverpool st, which is more than enough if you go direct, but you won't really have any time to go and do anything else.
I would recommend heading straight to Liverpool st, and then you may have half an hour before your train leaves from Liverpool st, in which case you can obviously then go to a pub or whatever, but make sure that you take the liverpool st to ipswich train it tells you to as your ticket is an advance so isn't valid on other trains.

As a sidenote, if you are taking local trains then sometimes an advance ticket can be used on any train of that day (but it varies on a route by route basis), but this doesn't apply to either of the routes you are travelling on

Welcome to the forum. Presume you just went for the cheapest ticket option with Trainline. A semi-flexible single ticket from Doncaster to Ipswich, "route ✠ANY PERMITTED" would have been around £78.40 before any railcard discount or £51.70 afterwards. And as @mangyiscute recommends, you need to ensure that you travel only on your booked trains on the Doncaster->Kings Cross and Liverpool Street->Ipswich legs.
