Advance + connections - reasonable time limit?

Hi, I have this advance ticket:

Sunday 10th March
Wolverhampton (1145) - Euston (1337)
Euston – Seven Sisters
Seven Sisters (1424) - Bush Hill Park (1435)

The first leg is on a booked train, the rest is "+ connections"

I have just bought a ticket for a concert at KOKO (a short walk from Euston) for the same evening. I may decide to hang around in Central London for a few hours on arrival from Wolverhampton, then head to the concert. If I do so would my advance ticket still be valid from Euston? It would be 9-10 hours since my arrival there.

There is no given limit on the '+ connections part' so as long as you use the correct reserved train to Euston what you propose it fine.

If you're asking whether your ticket would be valid, the answer is no, and you'd be liable to pay the difference between your ticket price and the cost of the Off Peak Single for the full journey. If you're asking whether you'll be able to do this, the answer is probably yes.

There is no official time limit AFAIK, but you may not break your journey. Connecting trains must be appropriate for the journey being made. In the unlikely event of being asked for your reservation on the Euston-Bush Hill Park leg you could be in an awkward situation.

Note that Greater Anglia (the company that runs the trains from Seven Sisters to Bush Hill Park) seem to think everyone will be tucked up in bed shortly after midnight, so the last train that leaves Seven Sisters for Enfield is 23:54.

If you want to return home later than that, you'll want to consider the tube then a bus – either Victoria Line to Tottenham Hale then a 192, Piccadilly Line to Turnpike Lane and a 217/231, or to Wood Green and a 329, depending on where in Bush Hill Park you want to go. All of those buses meet the last tube trains from London, which on a Sunday leave the centre at about midnight.

Quite right, although once you are in London the fact that you choose to go another way will be of no interest to the train operators because they aren't going to care what you then do, as per ...

There obviously would be a problem if you stayed out all night and tried to use the '+ connections part' the next morning, but paying for alternative tube/bus services around midnight really wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, Picadilly line to Turnpike then bus is usually my alternative route home in the case of a late night or engineering works. It's unusual for concert venues to have a curfew later than 11 though so I should be OK as long as I leave sharply at the end.
