Hi all,

I was hoping for some advice on the best ticket options. I need to make these journeys, all one way and in off peak times:

- On Monday, Leeds to Darlington.
- On Monday, Darlington to Middlesbrough.
- On Tuesday, Darlington to London King's Cross.
- On Tuesday, London King's Cross to Leeds.

The trip to London is a work journey but they will only purchase tickets from my home, so I have two Super Off-Peak Singles for Leeds to London King's Cross and return on Tuesday.

My question is which tickets will fill in the remaining journeys in the most cost efficient way? I'm unlikely to be able to commit to specific times so flexible tickets would be best.

Thanks in advance!

Leeds to Middlesborough is valid via Darlington.
Leeds to King's Cross is valid via York.
The return fares are significantly cheaper than two singles, and there is no restriction on break of journey.
I would therefore buy an Anytime or Offpeak Return Leeds to Middlesborough, depending on your start time in Leeds (before/after 0845).
On Tuesday, simply switch between tickets at York - as all trains from Darlington stop there you will be fine.

There may be a better option splitting at Northallerton or Thirsk, I haven't checked.

An off-peak return from York to Middlesbrough saves a few pounds.

A super off-peak single from Leeds to kings cross is valid via York with break of journey permitted you see.

The OP is travelling down to London on Tuesday, so their Super Off-Peak Single will not be valid for use on the Monday.
