Announcement:

We are sorry that the 15.39 to Sheffield is approximatley 16 minutes late, this is due to additional safety checks.

That strikes me as odd! Any ideas whats going on?

Could be infrastructure, doesn't necessarily mean the train is involved.

I've seen the same words used after a bridge bash a couple of times...

It does sound like an infrastructure issue-everythings starting to come out as delayed now.
