Now then. New to the board. So apologies if this has come up before.
With everyone seemingly moaning about capacity, what are the major problems (other than cost) of building additional carriages to add to existing trains?
Obviously, gone are the days of uniform carriages which can be placed at the end when needed.
But how much would it cost to build additional carriages for the voyagers for example taking some sets up to 6-7 carriages. And how long would it take for the TOCs to recover the outlay?
This would need no additional paths to be created and could carry significantly greater volumes of passengers.
Some platforms may be too short to handle the longer trains, but you just don't open certain doors.
