Additional adult on Network Railcard

Another adult and I are travelling from Cambridge to London later today.

I have a (monthly) season ticket, but my companion will need to buy a ticket. We have a two together railcard (which I assume we can't use, as I don't need a ticket) and I have a valid network railcard.

Can my companion travel on a network card ticket - accompanied on the whole journey by me, even if I'm travelling on a season ticket?

No you can't. A Two Together Railcard requires the purchase of two tickets.

The Network Railcard can be used though.

This isn't officially allowed for in the T&Cs, nor is it specifically prohibited either, but as the Network Railcard does not have a Photocard in practice it would not be stopped. The Railcard is not transferrable, but buying a ticket for someone else with it is not transferring it.

Same for the Two Together possibly - but it does mention both tickets needing to be *purchased* together.

The Network Railcard can be used though.

Only with a Gold Card is specific provision made for that kind of use, not a Network Railcard. But it isn't banned either, and as the Railcard has no photocard enforcement is unlikely, even if a member of staff believed it was not OK.

Good luck - I don't think many (or any) places will sell a single 2TR discounted ticket, so even if you could convince a staff member to issue it...
