Hi, I have tried to add a companion to my veterans railcard although have been informed I can only add a companion when buying a new card or renewal - my card is not due for renewal until Nov 25. Does anyone know how I can appeal this, I would like my named companion to travel with me on longer journeys and it seems very unfair that this is not allowed.

Unfortunately, as with similar railcards (Family and Friends/Two Together), it is not allowed under the terms and conditions.
If you qualify, you could switch to a Disabled Person's Railcard which is cheaper though this doesn't have the discount for children.
If not, there is generally no bar on buying a new railcard, which may be worth your (companion's) while, depending on how much they will travel with you in the next 6 months.
