I heard that most of the 482.2s are sold to various operators like Nordic Re-Finance, IRSI, Transrail and IGE as well as Hamburger Rail Service, I wonder if there is a reason of this and if they had become surplus due to the arrival of Vectron 193s........

Wikipedia says that it's because they do not have etcs. I suppose they need it to cross the new alpine tunnels and that's where most swiss freight routes are. They have been sold to german companies where etcs is almost non existant.

The Vectrons also have 1500V DC and 3000V DC capability so that one loco can be used throughout from (say) Rotterdam to Italy, which uses all four voltage systems.
