Hello everyone, I need your help in finding or giving some advice finding some cheap tickets with the route from Aberdeen to Midlands/West Mids. I say those locations as it doesnt matter really if it's to Telford, Wolverhampton, Birmingham or East Midlands or somewhere just so long as it's cheap. But knowing past experience it's usually been Birmingham.

The date's are kind of flexible as my partner needs to be at my location near Telford to go to Florida on the 1st September and return travel back to Aberdeen after we get back on the 14th.

CrossCountry used to do a £15 ish service from Birm/Edin that we both used to use but that seem's to have disappeared. All means of cheap travel seem to be disappearing, BMI baby's cheap Birmingham/Aberdeen flight.. *poof* gone - now the CrossCountry £15 has vanished! - Unless i'm being silly and missing it which could be a possibility.

So the dates of travel need to be either side of 01/09 and 14/09

If there are any questions regarding my post please do say and i hope i have covered everything.

Thank you very much.

I would suggest :
Aberdeen - Edinburgh Return
Edinburgh - Birmingham Return (Virgin Trains, via Preston)

Transpennine Express have some very good value Advance fares between Aberdeen and Manchester, for example looking now there is a £28.50 single on the 07.06 departure from Aberdeen on 31 Aug, changing at Edinburgh and Carlisle. You could then combine this with a £25 Off-peak return (return portion valid for 1 month) to Wolverhampton, or if more convenient carry on to Telford for an additional £3.80.

On the way back there are various single fares for £18 from Manchester to Aberdeen.

All fares quoted are normal adult fares, and savings are to be made with a Railcard.

I don't know if this is any help but I did a great day trip from Preston to Aberdeen a couple of weeks ago and only paid £15 each way for Advance tickets.
I got the cheaper fare on the outward journey by entering via Glasgow rather than via Edinburgh.
If you book well in advance there seems to be plenty of £15 tickets from Preston to most destinations in Scotland including Inverness. Glasgow and Edinburgh can be done for as little as £10.50 each way from both preston and Blackpool North.
