Did Aberdeen - Inverness trains have through loco workings in the 1950s or did they change locos, perhaps at Keith - the old HR/GNoS boundary?

I believe that they changed at either Keith or Elgin. There were three routes between the two towns and the change took place when they moved from (old) GNoSR/LNER to HR/LMS metals or v.v. There may have been one or two top expresses that ran through later on.

Kittybrewster (61A) had an allocation of B1s throughout the 1950s which were used on some passenger workings to Inverness. DMUs were drafted in to take over some of the through workings in 1960, along with the new Type 2 diesels, with steam substitutes still commonplace.
