A483 near Oswestry

This weekend I travelled this road for the first time and was surprised to find two railway level crossings, one covered by spindly barriers and one by (potentially) red flashing lights.
In both cases the tracks appeared moribund.
Can any helpful folk on this forum give me any background information on this line please?

The crossing is for the Gobowen to Oswestry line, not used for freight since the 1980s but efforts are being made to reopen the line as a heritage one.

When the Oswestry bypass was built in the 1980s the line was perceived as on its last legs so not worth the expense of building two new bridges and approach embankments.

The more northerly of the two crossings is actually on the section of the bypass that is mainly A5 (though in a "multiplex" with the A483, to use the terminology of the SABRE website).

The line served the quarries @ Blodwell which were part of the Tanat Valley lines splitting off the Cambrian Mainline at Llynclys. The Crossing north of Oswestry was on the GWR Gobowen to Oswestry branch and to the South on the Cambrian Railways Mainline.
