Did all the A4 tenders have corridors? In particular, does anyone know if "Eisenhower" was corridor eqquipped?

Thank you.

I have a feeling that corridor tenders were spread about over most of the LNER "A" class Pacifics along with normal tenders and I know not all A4s had them. Current pictures of Eisenhower show its currently with (and therefore probably finished its BR service with) a non corridor tender.

Not all of the A4s were equipped from new with corridor tenders.

From Yeadon's Register of A4 Locomotives, "Dwight D. Eisenhower" was built as 4496 "Golden Shuttle" for working the "West Riding Limited" between Bradford, Leeds and Kings Cross. It was paired with corridor tender 5651 from new in 1937, until it was transferred to Grantham shed in April 1957 and swapped its tender for the non-corridor variant (5671) that had previously been paired with 4467/60021 "Wild Swan".

The last fourteen A4s (4462 - 4469, 4499, 4500 and 4900 - 4903) were equipped with non-corridor tenders from new, nine of which were brand new and the remaining five having previously spent 6 - 12 months with A1/A3 locos, which were then coupled with 4902, 4464 ("Bittern"), 4903, 4901 and 4468 ("Mallard").

The remaining twenty one locos (The original "Silver Jubilee" quartet and 4482 - 4498) featured corridor tenders when new. Most notably, ten of these locos, 4482 - 4490 and 4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley" took over the ten original corridor tenders from the 1928 batch of A1/A3 locomotives, refurbished with streamlined farings that were later cut back to incease their coal carrying capacity. It goes without saying, as with the example of 4496/60008 above, that tenders were swapped over between corridor and non-corridor types during the working lives of the locos.
