A4 60019 The Cumbrian Ranger 15/3/14

LNER A4 60019 Bittern was the motive power for Vintage trains railtour the Cumbrian Ranger from Crewe to Carlisle . The tour was originally planned to leave Crewe and head for Carlisle via the Settle and Carlisle line but things changed . The A4 would leave Crewe and head for Carlisle via the West coast mainline but with Network rail saying the A4 would not be allowed into Carlisle station 60019 was taken off at Carnforth with 47773 taking the train over Shap with Bittern following later light engine . We first see 60019 near Scorton on a very blustery day and then light engine near Greenholme . The return sees 60019 at Cotehill and finally near Kirkby stephen station.
