If you board your booked train but find a more preferably seat to your reserved one, is it acceptable to remove the reservation card from your booked seat?
A colleague and I came back from Doncaster a few weeks back on an earlier train than our reservations were for (we had open tickets), I asked the conductor if he was able to advise control that our reservations wouldn't be needed, "No" was the answer.
