A very quick question about buying tickets online

which I'm sure has been asked before but I can't remember the answer, so this may well be a duplicate thread, sorry about that. I think I know the answer anyway, but thought I would double check.

I am buying some tickets for a friend on my credit card, which I will collect from my local station and post to him; we won't be travelling together. This is fine isn't it? I can buy tickets for someone else to use? All he will need is the tickets/reservations, he won't need my credit card or any proof of ID will he?

Yes, this is fine. Only Print@Home tickets require any ID to be carried.

Obviously if the tickets have a Railcard discount then the railcard must be presented with them, but apart from this nothing else is needed.

Note that some, but not all, types of ticket machines print the name of the card holder on the card. This has no affect at all on the ticket's validity.

The ticket may say Mr Smith but it can be used by Mrs Jones as long as that was Mr Smith's intention at the time of purchase.

Tickets are not transferable, however if the person they were bought for uses them then they haven't been transferred.
