At the end of August I'm planning on doing a trip through Skye, my itinerary so far is as follows:
Sleeper to Fort William arr. 0955
The Jacobite to Mallaig: 1015 - 1226
Calmac Ferry to Armadale: 1355 - 1425 (there's also one leaving at 1220, which is not useful!)
Bus (Number 51)/Taxi to Kyle of Localsh: 1430 - 1512
Scotrail to Inverness: 1714 - 1953
Have a few questions about this.
There's a 5 minute turnaround for the Bus at Armadale, would this be worth not rushing for and getting a taxi instead? How much roughly would this cost?
Can you walk the Skye Bridge/is it worth it? I've got a long while to burn before the train to Inverness so I might look into spending some time in a town on Skye or something (any ideas?).
Thanks
