The comments seem to suggest that the passengers made appropriate hand gestures to the owners of Station House whilst stationary :D

I guess @ConnectingDots can't confirm for us...

must have been a technical problem with the locomotive. Driver seemed to be examining something.
Maybe checking clearances, as it will have been a while since a Class 37 or a rake of hauled stock passed that way. But it's a bit odd, as this is the southbound (return) run.
There is footage of the outward run, when it ran through at full speed.
