A Tale of Two Commutes

An interesting comparison here. A British commuter goes off to Germany and completes a journey of a similar length to what she normally does. A German commuter then joins her on her British commute and gives his opinions

Well obviously he isnt going to like our trains! but secretly he knows ours are better in every way

The German guy says he prefers German trains, I don't know for sure, but I thought that the mainstay on the Clacton line was 360s! Mind you, they are pretty poor inside.

"The London Underground map is well known all over the world and the Tube is very easy to get around.

Is that why there are 94 Acton stations, but NONE of them are interchanges?!

The question I have to ask:

If the German system is supposably so much better, why is it our trains that are crowded and not theirs? Doesn't mention anything about double deckers...

Yes our fares are too high. It costs less to drive somewhere, unless you prebook your way through the NR fare structure maze:roll:

Its not just German railways which are cheap, but also other European countries such as Belgium and have much faster trains. But what is it with their platforms?

Belgian trains are dreadful! Horrible things, so old n rickety. But yeah when I travelled on the SNCB there were so many carriages the end few were locked until they were needed that was for a 2 hour journey!

Now what we see is a 4 carriage train which travels the whole country and goes for about 12hours!
