A stunning A4 in stunning conditions

I went out today on a rare restday off work to see 4492 'Dominion of New Zealand', which we all know is actually 60019 'Bittern'

The first shot involved a lot of location scouting at Danzey, before finally deciding to embark on a very treacherous 25ft climb up a tree to get the desired height and width for my photo. I think you'll all agree I was richly rewarded for my efforts.

After that I headed with my friend to play babies with our wives for a little while before having another punt at 4492 on the return, we settled for Small Heath for the second shot

Matt, Nice shots. I wondered what all the shouting was about after she had passed! I was the other side of the meadow. I stayed at Danzey for the return leg! And wasn't disappointed!

The shouting came courtesy of my companion more than me, but he's a new father and also quite ill, so he's been away from train photos for a while. I like the other Danzey shot too.

Anyone else Noticing a definate lack of steam on the first photo?

Well. guess what, if you had a Class 50 coasting down that hill,it,wouldn't clag either. Hot days are harder for steam too.
