Your profile looks fine to me IVO, I'm not sure about the strong nails bit (perhaps a bit scary in a 'little red riding hood' type way!).
As others have said, add some recent pictures with you looking relaxed then sit back and wait for the all offers!
When you do go out on a date, view it as something to really look forward to and remember that if she is genuine she will likely be at least as nervous as you.

My forum picture was lifted directly from the original, but on here it's not a big deal. I have deliberately brightened the "new" one in an effort to address this issue, although it's still not perfect (the photo is 32 months old now).

As for the other thing? It's a big part of my life that should match the apparent "geek" on there fairly well, and show that I can understand people being into apparently marginal subjects. I would hope this can work both ways.

Profile looks great to me, the only thing that I would personally change is the line about being shy and introverted, as this may not endear you to prospective partners, and you've always come across as a fun and spirited guy to me. (and as DarloRich points out, you need to come across as strongly as possible)

Also agree with the above points about your profile picture(s), if you want some portrait type shots taken I'd be happy to take some of you, as I need to do some more people photography.

What does your partner mean by "small areas"? If she means the "Near me" towards the bottom, it and "Anywhere" are the only options - and "Anywhere" would result in an influx of matches from the US.
