Afternoon All,

The latest video on my YouTube channel is a flashback to a weekend in 1994 when 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA did two trips from London King's Cross to the Nene Valley Railway at Peterborough. The first trip was on the Saturday and this is a clip of the second trip on the Sunday; it shows the A4 steaming and whistling through St. Neots on its way north:

Hope you like it.

TTFN,

Ron.

Evening All,

And here she is on the Nene Valley Railway, another little gem from my video archives:

Brilliant stuff. Thanks for sharing. I travelled as a fare paying passenger on the Saturday trip, but was selected to be the Nene Valley Railway (NVR) guard on the Sunday working, I was a member of the railway at the time. To save messing about with a crew change at Orton Mere station I joined the train at Peterborough (North) station. I knew the Peterborough guard that took over the working from the King's Cross man. He went to make the tea whilst I did the departure from Peterborough onto the NVR. As an aside, the dignitaries travelling in the inspection saloon needed to move into the 'public' part of the train at Ferry Meadows, as that part of the train would be off the platform when it arrived at Wansford.

I was a volunteer there at the time and worked with the P.W. gang. This gave me the opportunity to take photos and videos from lineside locations.

Evening All,

Here's a short clip of 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA at Peterborough at the end October, 1994. It had been visiting the Nene Valley Railway and was on its way back to London King's Cross:
