A question about LM 321s...

I noticed something at Watford on Friday that I've never noticed before on these - in the driving trailer without first class (the -P vehicle), above the set of passenger doors closest to the driving cab, there's a fan-type thing can be seen from outside on the roof. It makes a sound like it's some sort of forced ventilation, but as far as I'm aware, 321s have no such thing (if they do, it's really rubbish! ). It's only above that door at that end of the train. So what is it?

if its the same as nxea then its the air con for the cabs

Only on one end? It's not even above the cab - very odd...

I think one or two 321s were fitted with air con back in the Silverlink days (maybe even Northampton Line days). The units had lower ceilings where the vents were fitted.
