A question about combining tickets.

I'm looking at commuting between Nottingham and Derby but would also need trams/buses in Nottingham.

If I had a robin hood season http://robinhoodnetwork.co.uk/ and then got a season from it's border (Attenborough) to Derby would this allow use of all trains that pass through but don't stop at Attenborough?

I assume it would for two reasons firstly because one is a season ticket and also because the robin hood presumably counts as an area ticket but I'd like confirmation as I wasn't sure if the robin hood was "rail enough". That combination appears to be fine:

If you are using a Season Ticket, daily Zonal Ticket, or another area based Ticket such as a concessionary pass, ranger or rover in conjunction with another Ticket and the last station at which one Ticket is valid and the first station that the other Ticket is valid are the same, then the train does not need to call at that station for your combination to be valid.

The T&C don't seem to preclude its use in combination with another ticket.
