A query about ie Spell Check (Red Egg Software)

One of the elderly (like me) neighbours tells me she has suddenly found this facility had stopped working. She said it was on her desktop computer when her son (currently working in the Far East) gave it to her at the end of October 2021.

Has anyone any ideas that I can pass on to her, such as another spell checker that will work with Microsoft Edge that is her system.

Presumably she's running Windows? Thought there was some sort of spellchecking library built in that seems to work in Edge, though admittedly I've not used Windows in a few months other than at work, where it works in Chrome. That said the PC s at work are windows 7, and we pay a small fortune each year to have this supported.
Possibly this article may be of use?
Iirc most operating systems have such a feature built in that software can take advantage of , such as aspell on Ubuntu, pretty sure MacOS and windows have something similar
No doubt someone more knowledgeable will be along and contradict what I've said, but if it helps I'll boot into Windows later and have a look for you

Top right hand corner (...) - Click
Scroll down to 'Extensions' (picture of a jigsaw piece)
Scroll to 'open Microsoft edge add-ons'

Then just search for whichever spell check you prefer

Thanks for the advice. Yes, she is running Windows and has Windows 7 Home Premium, which I suppose her son thought would suffice for an 81 year old mum, when he gave her the desktop computer.

EDIT ... A suitable one (Microsoft Editor) was chosen from the Microsoft Edge add-ons, installed, and the lady in question is now quite happy.
