After initially going out in the morning for 37s on a test train, yesterday ended up being a day of chasing 60s for me.
Shortly before the 37s passed me at Aberthaw, 60065 passed on the 4V01 Hope to Cwmbargoed coal empties. This working took a 60 up to Cwmbargoed on a freight for the first time in 10, possibly 15, years.

Went home for a while then saw what everything else was doing and realised I could see quite a few on the move later in the afternoon.
Unfortunately the South Wales main line west of Cardiff is tricky for shots of westbound trains at this time of year as the foliage is pretty thick along the lineside so much so that it is sometimes better not to have the sun out.
Anyway, the next 60 to get was 60011 (one I hadn't photted in DBS livery before) working the 6V75 Dee Marsh to Margam steel which I got at Llanharan.

With my dad doing video as well, we decided to move for our next shot as Llanharan is too short a video shot. The next goal was 60020 on the 6B33 Theale to Robeston Murco empties. We got this at Pontsarn level crossing a few miles west of Cardiff. This spot always used to be good for west boound trains but one or two bushes have now got quite large and break up the scene a bit too much.

There was quite a wait until the next 60 hauled train was due so we popped home to check the progress on RTT as there wasn't anything else due in the mean time. (I still work in the dark ages and don't have a smart phone to check these things whilst out and about).
After a quick brew, we headed out to Pencoed to get 60044 & 60040 working the 6Z60 Warrington Arpley to Margam special which conveyed what I think are pipe wagons. 60044 is another 60 I haven't photted in DB Red.

And so after getting this pair, it was back home for tea before getting 60065 again at St Athan on it's way back from Cwmbargoed with the 6M77 Cwmbargoed to Earles Sidings.

All in all, a good day. Feel free to comment on any of the pics.
