Hello again all

This another thread about a brief sighting :) On Tuesday I was working over in Leicester and just approaching a bridge in North Leicester I saw a wonderful sight that was a Deltic pulling a class 37,class 47 and the HST prototype.

Now I checked its route on real time trains,Didcot to north leake, but it's route was via the chiltern line, birmingham, water orton,Nuneaton and Leicester would this be because of the speed of the unit and the only route which would not cause problems/disruptions to xc/LM/virgin services if it went the more direct route via Coventry or was it because going that route the travelling units did have to reverse at all??

It went that way so the convoy did not have to reverse. Only the Deltic could power on the move so if it reversed a run round would have been required.

Cheers for that matt, got to say it was wonderous seeing a Deltic moving on the mainline, where I'm from I usually see desiros, pendolinos and the odd 66, 86 and 90 trundle up and down the wcml!
