The name Connex is well known by UK and London train buffs. Connex is also well known to those in Australia, for they ran the suburban network in the city of Melbourne for around 10 years.

A US sitcom, clearly used 'blue screen' background thingy when they where doing a shot inside a train carriage. Guess whos train went past the windows of the said studio train.....

Here is the blog page, where I found the information.

Half the gunzels in Melbourne are chattering about this: through the wonders of green screen and stock footage, the most recent episode of How I Met Your Mother (which aired last weekend in the USA, and on Thursday night in Australia) featured a Melbourne Comeng suburban train in Connex colours....

And a sample of said gunzels chattering...

Good trains those classic ComEng units, the three sets of doors on each side make for very efficient access at stations. They are the electric versions of a DEMU in Adelaide which is being considered for conversion from diesel to 25kV power in a few years as part of an electrification project.
