Today I made a trip to York to see Deltic 22 Form 0Z56 Barrow Hill - York NRM and 0Z55 York NRM - ELR.

Upon arrival plenty of passing trains were seen with 180105 on test for Grand Central. Class 66s passed through the station on freight including 66729 which heading South along platform 5.

A noise was heard towards the NRM which we belieived to be a Deltic. A dash to the compund proved fruitless as did a trip to the South Yard where Olton Hall and 47798 'Prince William' were seen.

Back at the station the Scarborough Spa Express was seen hauled by 45231 on time at 1203. Duff information meant the Deltic and Western passed through behind this train.

Having seen the SSE away from platform 5 on the way to the coact we headed off to the NRm to see Deltic shunting. Having crossed the footbridge the Deltic was heard revving up to deprt the NRM resulting in a quick dash accross the bridge and down to the end of platform 9 where a ver claggy departure was witnessed courtesy of the very kind crew.

Another couple of hours were wished away watching passenger traffic which included 91111 before 37423 and Insepction Saloon 'Caroline' arrvived forming 5Z72. This shunted accross into the parcell sidings and stabled alongside 37516. As soon as this working has shunted clear of platform 11 180105 returned on test and training stopping in the platform. This train really confused passengers but allowed for some quick fotting.

Upon our return to Northallerton we were just in time to see 66560 climbing onto the ECML with a loaded container working.

What a day!!!

Ahhh, I guessed that but didn't want to sound like a knob! Had a quick search for 91111 to see if it was anything super special but nothing jumped out so guessed the livery may have been it.

Will check the vids out.

55022 didnt half shift out the station, and I notice it passed through a red signal in doing so!

I hope to travel up again very soon for a ride on the EWS stock around the Fifie circle as the 1708 ex-Waverly. Does anyone know how long this circuit takes??
